Alright, so I was feeling like waffles again today, but every time I make protein waffles I’m slightly disappointed with what I cook up. I mean, they smell great, they’re not hard to make… but they just usually taste so-so. I’ve been trying to get in the groove of tracking my macros IIFYM style, so I’ve decided looking for protein-only recipes is no longer a requirement. Why not make some healthy waffles that actually have carbs? They won’t kill me.

These badboys have everything that you could possible want in a protein waffle:

  • Protein
  • Chocolate
  • Peanut Butter
  • Banana
  • Gains

So you know they’re going to taste good. I’m not great at any sort of baking (even if it means jamming a couple ingredients in a waffle iron) so this was totally an experiment for me. I’m really happy with how it turned out, and I didn’t even need to add syrup to make these taste good to snack on. Protein waffles don’t have to be a chore to eat.

In case you’re wondering, this made three big waffles in my waffle iron. I’m calling it 12 portions because I’m counting a single portion as a quarter of a waffle, since my protein waffles seem to break apart nicely like that. You could eat all 12 portions at once. I won’t judge you for all the gains you’ll make.

Ingredients (12 portions)


  1. Mix all of that awesomeness into a big bowl.
  2. Eat as many as you can.
  3. Gains.
