Another high carb day required for the big leg blast tonight. Need something like a high carb day in order to get the necessary fuel for a workout like this. I hear people talk about getting all big and strong on their leg days, but I also don’t see a lot of strong people at the gym. Nevermind strong, I don’t see a lot of people even squatting at the gym. I get that some people aren’t “built for squatting”, sure, whatever, but is “some” 99% of the population? Give me a break.

I cheated a bit tonight. There were a couple treats in the office at work today, and I said, screw it. I’m going to hoard a couple for myself and crush them before I walk out the door to squat. And that’s exactly what I did. You probably won’t hear me say too often that I feel guilty for eating something… I think about everything I eat and I made the decision that I wanted to enjoy that food. And leverage it to feed my quads, obviously.

What I Ate

  • 5g fish oil, 5000 IU vitamin D
  • 1 cup granola, 25g whey
  • Half bagel with natural peanut butter
  • Sole with rice
  • Salad
  • Half bagel with natural peanut butter
  • 2 bite size cookies
  • 2 (pretty small, give me a bloody break… AND IT WAS LEG DAY) apple fritters
  • Pre-workout shake (25 g whey)
  • Post-workout shake (50 g whey)
  • Sole with rice
  • 5g fish oil, multi-vitamin, ZMA
